This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on moldasig.md, for what purpose, and how you can change your choice at any time.
Who processes the data
MOLDASIG S.A., tax code 1002600053315, with its registered office at Chișinău, str. Albișoara 42, MD-2005, Republic of Moldova, is the personal data operator for this website. Write to us at [email protected] or call +373 22 889 889 with any question about your data.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file the site keeps in your browser. Together with similar technologies such as localStorage or tracking pixels, cookies let a site recognise your browser on a later visit.
A cookie cannot run programs and cannot read files on your device. It can, however, contain a unique identifier which, together with your IP address, makes it possible to tell one visitor from another. For that reason, cookies that are not strictly necessary are treated as personal data within the meaning of Law no. 195/2024 on the protection of personal data.
There is no separate cookie law in the Republic of Moldova. The obligation to ask for your agreement before using statistics and marketing cookies comes from Law no. 195/2024 itself: cookie identifiers together with an IP address are personal data, so reading or writing them needs a legal basis, and for advertising and analytics that basis is your consent.
What we ask you, and why
On your first visit we show a banner with three options of equal weight: accept every category, refuse them all, or choose category by category. The "Accept all" and "Reject all" buttons are the same size and equally prominent, because refusing has to be as easy as accepting.
Until you choose, no cookie other than the strictly necessary ones is written to your device, and no analytics or advertising tool is loaded.
Simply continuing to browse is not consent. Consent is given by an unambiguous action, by pressing one of the banner's buttons.
Refusing does not limit access to the site, the use of the premium calculators, or your ability to take out a policy in any way.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary. These make the site work: your server session, protection of forms against attack, the check that you are a real person rather than an automated program, and remembering your cookie choice. Legal basis: performance of the contract to which you are a party, and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (art. 6(1)(b) and (f) of Law no. 195/2024). These cookies cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot use the calculators, sign in to your account or take out a policy.
The feedback widget. The site loads a feedback widget (Appzi) through which you can tell us what was hard to use. It stores no cookie and no information in your browser, which is why it is shown regardless of your cookie choice: it has nothing to ask permission to store. The supplier does receive your IP address, as any service loaded from another domain does. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in finding out what does not work well on the site (art. 6(1)(f)).
Statistics. These show us, in aggregate, which pages are visited, where visitors come from, and at which step a policy request is abandoned, so we can fix what is broken. They are not used to make decisions about you, about your premium or about your policy. Legal basis: your consent.
Marketing. These let us measure which advertising campaign led to a policy being taken out, and show you MOLDASIG offers on other sites and on social networks. The data reaches Google and Meta. Legal basis: your consent.
Health data is never sent to analytics or advertising tools, under any circumstances and regardless of your choice in the banner.

Third-party suppliers and transfers outside the Republic of Moldova
Some of the statistics and marketing cookies are set by third-party suppliers, named in the table above. Those suppliers act as independent operators, or as joint operators, for their own processing, and their privacy policies apply alongside ours.
Their servers may be located outside the Republic of Moldova, including in the United States of America and the European Union. Transfers are made on the basis of standard contractual clauses and the guarantees each supplier gives in its terms of use. They happen only if you gave consent for that category.
How long we keep your choice
Your choice is kept for 6 months in the site's own cookie, named nld_consent. After that we ask again. We also ask again sooner if we change the purposes for which we use cookies.
Separately, we keep a record of the consent: the time, the categories accepted, the policy version, the language, the page you were on and a random identifier, together with an irreversibly encrypted form of your IP address and browser. We do not keep your IP address or browser identifier in readable form. This record exists so we can demonstrate that consent was given, as art. 7(1) of Law no. 195/2024 requires; it is not used to track you, and it is deleted automatically after 400 days.
How to change your choice
Your choice can be changed or withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given, from the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
When you withdraw consent for a category we do not merely stop writing new data: we delete from your device the cookies and information that category had already stored, as far as our site can reach them. Cookies set directly on third-party domains, such as doubleclick.net, cannot be deleted from this site; they can be removed from your browser's settings.
You can also delete or block cookies directly in your browser. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the premium calculators and the policy purchase process from working.

Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The details and how to exercise them are described in the Privacy Policy.
